Believing that there is no universal, one size fits all skin care regimen that will leave everybody with glowing, beautiful skin. There are many factors involved in determining the proper skin care regimen.

There are many different types of skin, including Oily, Dry, Sensitive, and the most common, Combination. On top of natural skin type, proper skin care must also consider a number of factors such as age, gender, skin tone, skin care history, and lifestyle. All of these factors mean that there are literally thousands of possible skin care regimens, each one suited for a different person. Basic understanding takes all of the above information into account to form specialised skin care product recommendations that are customised for you.

   

Dry Skin occurs when the oil glands do not produce a sufficient amount of oil to lubricate the skin properly, as a result, the skin becomes dehydrated. Dry skin is typically thin, dull and often flaky with fine lines. This type of skin is often the result of the aging process as the ability to retain moisture is diminished. Environmental factors such as exposure to the sun, wind and cold weather climates may exacerbate dry skin as well.

Oily skin tends to be thick, shiny with large pores clearly visible everywhere except around the eye and neck areas. Oil producing sebaceous glands can be overactive, producing more oil than is needed. Oily skin is a blessing in disguise since the abundance of oil helps keep moisture from evaporating from the epidermis, making it less prone to aging and wrinkling. On the other hand, clogged pores and blackheads are perennial problems for people with oily skin. Extra care is need to absorb excess oils to prevent surface dead skin cells from sticking together and clogging pores.

Combination skin may include a variety of skin types: dry, oily or normal areas on the skin that may vary seasonally or with environmental changes. Typically the areas around the cheeks, eye and neck are dry while the areas across the forehead and down toward the nose and chin or oily. This is the most common skin type which may require seasonal regimen adjustments to adapt to the changing needs of the skin.

Sensitive skin is typically a thin or a fine-textured skin. It usually reacts quickly to temperature changes from heat, cold or wind. Sensitive skin may be easily irritated, red, rashy, blotchy or prone to allergic reactions. It requires extra gentle care along with the use of mild products formulated to help calm and soothe skin. Sensitive skin can still fall into the oily, dry, problem or combination categories.

I am 23 years old and I have normal skin type. My skin started to become like this recently. Which is heartbreaking.. I am living in a humidity country, Malaysia/Singapore.

I have to admit these are the causes to my face today: 
-Personal Hygiene (Did not remove makeup properly as
sometimes I fell asleep with makeups on! I bet you might have the same issue)

I do touch-up my makeup without using any facial tissue to wipe away all the sweats before applying because I usually in a hurry situation. At that time, I do not know the proper way to take care of my skin.

The first visit, I have no intention to purchase any products. 

After the consultation with a beautician name Yenny, I decided to purchase the minimum 6 sessions of Acne Prone Skin Treatment which cost about MYR1600.00 round figure. 

ONE FREE SET of Medibac clearing and 3 FREE sessions of normal Treatment for scars. This set is very good to keep the bacteria from spreading. She said my skin condition is very bad as most of the pores are infected.

1) Clearing Skin Wash 50ml 

This naturally-foaming cleanser is the perfect start to around the clock control of breakouts, comedones and excess surface oils. Contains no artificial fragrance or color.

2)Sebum Clearing Masque 22ml

Use after cleansing to enhance skin clearing and control the main factors that contribute to breakouts. Oil-absorbing clays help detoxify skin as Salicylic Acid stimulates natural exfoliation to clear pore congestion. Free of artificial fragrances and colors. *This will make the skin more dry. After use apply moisturiser.

3)Clearing Mattifier 15ml

4)Overnight Clearing Gel 15ml

5)Concealing Spot Treatment 3ml - Skin color

Apply to afflicted area, then pat until blended in.

How to use this set:

Morning : Wash your face gently with Clearing skin wash because our face is at their most fragile moment. Follow with by toner then apply Clearing Mattifier evenly. You can apply Concealing Spot Treatment on those affected areas to conceal the redness of your skin. This will keep that area dry and from getting oily as well.

Evening : Wash your face gently with Clearing skin wash. Follow by toner and Overnight Clearing Gel. 

It works best with Dermalogica Ultracalming mist (Toner), Active Moist - Moistoriser. These are not included in the set. You can purchase it if you are financially allowed to.

After the first treatment, you will your face super sensitive and red but it's fine because it will get better in time. We have to be patience.

I've been using a small amount for all the products, so you can expect this set to last approx. to two months. 

Then, you'll need to top up other products for better results. 

You have to get the Precleanse if you wish to apply makeup at times in order to wash off the impurities/makeups.

Not to forget about the moisturizer, because after using Medibac Clearing set for minimum 3 months, your face will become a little dry because Medibac set is use to dry out the acne and pimples(controlling). 

Precleanse 50ml MYR160(approx)

The professional's deep cleansing weapon! 

Achieve ultra clean and healthy skin with a double cleansing regimen that begins with PreCleanse. How to use:

After washing your face, spray it evenly on your face. Spray 2 - 3 times and gently do a circular motion to ensure the toner is all over the face.

Active moist 50ml MYR190

A lightweight, oil-free lotion for daily moisture protection to actively combat surface dehydration. This sheer, easy-to-apply formula contains Silk Amino Acids and a unique combination of plant extracts to help smooth and improve the skin's texture. How it works:

How to use:
After toner, squeeze a peanut size and apply it all over your face. Depending on your face as well, if you've got a big head squeeze a little bit more and reverse for the other.

Progression of my skin condition in 2 months time. Finally something that is worth the MONEY! 

Stop throwing your money to cosmetic products now, don't even think of covering them because the more you cover the worst it will get. Tadaa! You get what you pay for! Treatment.

My daily routine will be:

Morning: 

Wash with Clearing Skin Wash.

Spray Ultracalming mist on a clean face. 2 - 3 times. 1 forehead. 1 left and 1 right face.

Apply Active Moist little portion would be enough as it is rich in moisturising the skin. Finally a sunscreen/sunblock that with at least spf 15 for AUV and AUB. 

Night: 

Start with Precleanse(optional) > Clearing Skin Wash > Ultracalming mist > Overnight Clearing Gel > Active Moist

GOODNIGHT~

Every THREE or FOUR days:

After cleansing your face. Clean towel, gentle tap to dry your face but not too dry. Leave it a little moisture. Apply Gentle Cream Exfoliant on affected areas. Let it dry for 10-15mins. Wash with warm water. I'm loving this product very much because i dont have to do much. Ill just need to leave it on my face for 15mins. The product will do all the works.

You may follow your respective consultant's recommended products or advises. I am here giving a review on Dermatologica products.

BE GENTLE to your skin. You don't want to hurt them!

Drink more water. 

Please be clean.

Eat more fruits.

No spicy, Occasional is fine but not always.

No mixing products of skincare! 

Ignore promotion from other brands! You can do it! haha

and 

Do not touch your face with your dirty hands and fingers! 

Your skin will get better.
